How do the Italians do it? As if it were not enough to boast some of the finest, most beautiful cities and monuments in the world, they also have the countryside and lakes. Lake Como, Maggiore, Lugano… the list goes on.
But we bet you probably haven’t even heard of Lago d'Iseo (Lake Iseo), the fourth largest lake in Lombardy and an also an area of truly outstanding natural beauty. Of course, the vistas astound and to take it all in you deserve a base that fits in with the surroundings. That’s where the Hotel Rivalago comes in.
Located right by the lakeside and also with views of Monte Isola Island, it offers over 30 well decorated rooms and suites and a rather pleasant surprise in the decoration stakes - in our view at least. Often places of a similar style and location in Italy are rather “heavy” on the décor. Here, the place is bright and airy, light and nimble so to speak. The heavy baggage of the Italian “Liberty” style having largely been done away with.
Plus, not only is there a lake next door, so to speak, there’s a garden too where you can relax glass in hand and enjoy the view.
We think the Hotel Rivalago satisfies on all fronts: the lake, views, comfort, style, the family welcome and, of course, the general location. Not only do you have the immediate environs but there are numerous towns and villages up and down the lake. Verona and Bergamo are also easy to get to.

The hotel offers a amazing breakfast with homemade cakes, croissants,  organic jam and honey, cold cuts, cheese, eggs & bacon, juices.  Vegan and gluten free products are also available. For a pure holiday feeling you can enjoy the time at the Jacuzzi or the pool. 

This being Italy, food is great too, so all in all, great value.Guests can also look forward to a varied evening program: From May 13th, on Monday and Saturday evening, there will be soft live music entertainment (max until h 22:00).
