Maison des Amis is one of our most romantic b&b in Porto, located in the historic center of Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, and one of Europe's most beautiful destinations.

The building, restored by architect Liliana Giesta Ramos, shows all the uniqueness of the city's XIX-century domestic architecture. Guests will enjoy a peaceful environment, both inside and outside, due to the surroundings of the house and the gardens of the Palácio de Cristal, situated about 100 meters distance.

The Maison des Amis combines the charm and elegance of a historic building with the taste of homemade and local products. Besides, when you open the door you can either walk, get the tram or bus and revive the history of the city by visiting the Downtown, Ribeira, Douro River, the Casa da Música... and the art galleries street, Rua Miguel Bombarda.

The rooms are spacious (from 40 to 50 m², some even hold two bathrooms) and offer the perfect places to rest, enjoy and breathe the history and hospitality of Oporto. The house can be in exclusively or by suites. Guests will also be delighted by the terrace and garden, or in the living room with TV and free Wi-Fi throughout the house.

Mes Amis is a wonderful place in Porto

If I could give 11 out of 10, I would! Mes Amis is a beautiful house, thoughtfully updated while still honoring its original design. It is a gorgeous older home, displaying the gracious style and furnishings of the early 1900's. It is an extremely comfortable base from which to explore Porto, being close to everything without being caught in the crush of tourist crowds. It was so easy to explore the city from here, and there are so many nearby restaurants, markets and shops. Our hosts, Nelson and Isabella, are wonderfully hospitable, and were helpful and responsive to the few questions that we had. They also provided us with useful recommendations for local restaurants. The bedrooms are spacious, airy, well appointed and very restful. Each bedroom has its own ensuite bath, which is generally not easy to find. The kitchen is modernized and well-appointed for easy use by guests. And there is an extremely pleasant back terrace/yard which was great for relaxing and outdoor dining. Mes Amis lets you experience the unique grace and charm of older Porto while providing all the modern comforts for your stay.

Thanks to Nelson and his wife for the beautiful welcome and staying. The maison is absolutely beautiful and I breath the real ancient Porto's athmosphere that is lacking in the majority of new touristic places. I definitely will come back soon.
Perfect location, wonderful hosts

I can’t say enough complimentary things about this property! It is close to the Clerigos Tower, but away from the noise and crowds of the Ribeira and walkable to all of the Porto sights. The building itself is an elegant and beautifully furnished townhome with a lovely back garden. The proprietors - Nelson and Lourdes stopped by to personally check on things and could not have been kinder or more helpful. Staying at Mes Amis made our visit to Porto a truly memorable experience. I would highly recommend it!

Ein schönes gepflegtes Haus in einer sehr guten Lage. Wir bewohnten ein großes geschmackvoll möbliertes Zimmer zur Straßenseite. Der ausgesprochen freundliche Inhaber hat uns wertvolle Tips gegeben , wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Lärmempfindliche Menschen sollten vielleicht ein Zimmer zum Garten wählen.

We stayed four nights in Porto in this fabulous guesthouse in August 2023. The house has been beautifully restored, and the room we stayed in was spacious and quiet. Maison des Amis is ideally located. We were within walking distance to most of the city. The hosts, Lourdes and Nelson, were wonderful. Extremely helpful with their recommendations of restaurants to try and sights to visit, and so interesting to talk with. Our stay was flawless. Our only regret was we could not stay any longer. Thank you Lourdes and Nelson. We're already planning our next visit.

Adorei a indicação do SecretPlaces à Maison des Amis, com Nelson e Lurdes como hosts. O quarto era incrível, super confortável e de limpeza impecável. A localização, a 300m de bares e restaurantes, não interferiu na tranquilidade e silêncio do local, com a facilidade de termos as melhores opções de restaurantes a 12min à pé do hotel. Além de nos ajudarem ao longo da estadia com dicas, ainda nos deram carona, passeando connosco pela orla do Porto, para chegarmos à tempo a um compromisso. Foi mesmo um fim de semana de ouro. Obrigada mais uma vez.
Very beautiful Guest House

we stayed for two nights and had a wonderful time in this very beautiful restaurated house. The rooms are very large and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The house has a beautiful little garden were you can relax after a hard day of walking or have a coffee in the morning including a kiwi or a lemon right from the tree.

Très belle maison, à la lisière du centre historique (à 5 minutes à pied de la Galerie de Paris, à 10-15 minutes à pied de la cathédrale), meublée avec beaucoup de goût. Nous avons séjourné dans une magnifique suite de 3 pièces, donnant sur la cour intérieure. Tout était parfait, le calme était total, et Pedro et Isabel, nos hôtes, ont été très accueillants et toujours présents pour nous conseiller. Le petit-déjeuner n'était pas encore disponible, mais comme il y avait Epoca, à quelques minutes à pied, au début de la Rua do Rosario, et ses petits-déjeuners bio/détox/branchouille, c'était très bien ainsi. Nous reviendrons.

This is a beautifully restored traditional Portuguese townhouse, full of lovely furniture, magnificent high ceilings and warm, polished wood floors. It has a calm, cool and welcoming feel from the instant you step through the door. Our room was at the back of the property and it was beautifully furnished with a very comfortable bed, loads of drawer and hanging space and very good bathroom facilities. Breakfast is great, nice fresh food and served up until 11 am each day. Location - 5 minutes walk from the Clerigos Tower and within easy reach of the historic centre of Porto. What makes this place so special though is the host Isabel. She is so welcoming and friendly that we felt at home straight away. Isabel went out of her way to help with restaurant reservations, information about Porto and even our very British need for access to a kettle and teabags was no problem! We will certainly be looking to go back to Maison des Amis very soon. Thank you Isabel!

Very nice and well decorated old Porto house . Central position, easy reach on foot to the main attractions in Porto and lots of places to eat a few minutes away. The hostess does absolutely everything she can to make you feel at home and on holiday. Probably best to book the quieter rooms on the garden side. I warmly recommend this place.

La habitación comoda, confortable, amplia y tranquila sin ruidos. La perdón encargada del alojamiento súper agradable y servicial.....muy dedicada!!!! Si tuviéramos que objetar algo seria la poca variedad en el desayuno....algo dulce de la zona y algo mas salado aunque la petición de lo q pedimos nos lo presento
