Wonderfully located and good value for money rural bed and breakfast.
Set in the gorgeous Tuscan hills, and yet only half an hour from Florence, the Casa Palmira is one of those skillfully renovated medieval farmhouses that the Italians seem to specialize in.
Thanks to this must go to the delightful hosts Maria and Guillermo who put all their energy into making an authentic rural bed and breakfast. It is also a great option for those wishing to explore the splendor of the beautiful countryside yet still be near enough beaten track to explore some of the region's great towns and culture. Florence for example, is only 16 km away and the wonderful Etruscan town of Fiesole is even closer by.
The feeling is one of authenticity throughout without precluding flair or style. Their interiors are comfortable, bedrooms cosy and breakfast provides a generous helping of Tuscany. It also comes with a large lounge with a fireplace, a patio with a shady pergola, and a barbecue.
And then there’s the price. Good value for money in a beautiful part of the world.

Pure time out!

The casa is about 20 minutes by car from Florence. If you need a little break or are freshly in love, you've come to the right place. There is WiFi, but it doesn't work across the board. But you are also on vacation! The two hosts are very warm and accommodating. English, Italian or French is an advantage. The room, our doll's house, was perfectly adequate for our stay and the breakfast was delicious too. It is furnished in typical Italian style and you shouldn't expect any luxury.

The place is fabulous: location, room, garden and pool. Genuine Italian style. The pair of hosts is warming and chilling. Really an exciting discover.

Lovely garden, beautiful house, friendly owners. A little paradise where to get lost and relax yourself. The bedrooms where comfortable and clean. The breakfast is fine, with own products and served in their living room. Opera or jazz music where welcoming you to the house each day while entering the main door and outside the music was provided by the birds. Extremy recommendable!

First break away without the kids - so so glad we chose to stay at Casa Palmira when we visited Florence. To call it a bed and breakfast does it a huge disservice; this tastefully decorated farmhouse is simply a time stopping, exquisite journey back in time. You just know that every item in that house - the four post beds, the spoons, even the ladle for scooping yogurt - has been carefully added to this home by a discerning eye. Assunta and Stefano are such welcoming hosts, our every whim was catered for - oh we fell in love with them. Clearly deft touches at this sort of thing - they knew just when to indulge you in conversation and just when to leave you alone. Honestly, this place is just so restful, tranquil and peaceful - we went to visit Florence but couldn't leave Casa Palmira. Only went for an afternoon in the end - lol. Anyway, we will certainly be back, will be our base in Tuscany for years to come.
