Finca El Azahar

The guesthouse ‘Finca El Azahar’, set in a 19th-century winery in the Spanish Region of Extremadura, is an oasis of peace in the middle of nature. Just 10 minutes from Trujillo, the house is surrounded by 8 hectares of olive trees, vines, pomegranate trees, fig trees, plum trees and orange trees.

Completely renovated in 2020, the finca offers five spacious and bright rooms and can be rented by the room as in a bed and breakfast or as a whole. It is the ideal place to spend some time to relax and switch off from everyday life. Each room has a bedroom, a living room with a reading corner, a desk and bathroom, as well as a terrace or a porch to enjoy the marvellous views of the countryside.

The large living room of the finca is cool in summer because of its thick walls and welcoming in winter with its wood-burning stove. The second lounge, a former stable where dinner and a breakfast are served, is located between the courtyard and the large garden. The interior is kept in bright colours as well as warm tones.

The garden, that opens onto the wines, will surely become one of your favourite spots as will the swimming pool, a delight for all guests. Weather permitting, the friendly staff serves breakfast and dinner under the pergola. Dishes are prepared with fresh and seasonal local  products.

Nearby, you can explore the monumental city of Trujillo, Guadeloupe, Mérida or the World Heritage Site of Cáceres. As for activities, the rich and beautiful surrounding landscape offers dozens of routes to explore on foot or by bicycle. The Extremadura is also an ideal place for bird watching and photography. With its dark skies and a multitude of stars visible almost all year round, Extremadura is also and astronomy paradise.

The accommodation can be booked as a complete house with all 5 rooms, but in this case there is no daily cleaning and breakfast is not included. Therefore you will have private access to the kitchen and washing machine.
