Typically Galician rural house, located in the beautiful Fragas del Eume forest.
This 16th century rural country house is located in perhaps the loveliest area in the whole of Galicia, the heart of the Fragas del Eume, the only Atlantic forest in Europe. Indeed, it is an ideal place to find rest and tranquillity in a natural environment, a place where you can here the murmurings of the water as it passes the old washing press and imagine the times gone by of such an historic place, where the old utensils and tools placed in the old store rooms will certainly help your imagination in this regard.
The 6 rooms and 2 suites were also all totally renovated in 2001 to bring the whole house up to 21st century standards, despite it half millennia of age, so a comfortable stay with Galicia is not only renowned for its green countryside and “Rias”, rivers mixing salt and fresh water and running down to the sea, but also its hospitality and friendly people. So its odds on guests at the Casa Lourán will also be spending some of their time in pleasant conversations with the owners by the fireplace.
If not there than certainly in the dining room, where the Casa serves up traditional Galician cuisine, ecological products produced locally.
In our opinion, an excellent introduction to typical Galicia.
10/10!
Wow!
Preis/Leistung für uns unschlagbar

Anna was the perfect host, so welcoming and helpful and her food was delicious. At only a moments notice she prepared a homemade three course dinner with wine which was so simple yet some of the best food we'd had on our trip. Breakfast was the same, homemade jams and cream cheese all served up by Anna whilst she continuously made fresh toast at the cooker for the guests around the communal table. The vibe is so homely and friendly and the service and products pure quality.
The living room is beautiful with a huge open fireplace, I'm just sad it wasn't colder so we could have lit a fire in there as I am sure it would have been extremely cosy! The property is equally as good for warm weather as there is a lovely outside seating area in the garden, we were there in the autumn and could eat the apples from the trees in the orchard.
Our bedroom was so cute with all the original rustic features, the beds were comfy, the bathroom was clean and in immaculate condition, large fluffy towels were provided along with toiletries, making our stay extremely comfortable.
This is not an extravagant venue but it it luxurious in the sense that you feel completely at ease and thoroughly looked after. Everything is arranged for you comfort and Anna couldn't make you feel more welcome.
Beautiful cottage that made us fall is love with Galicia

Staying in Case Louran was the highlight of our holidays in Galicia. Ana and her family were very attentive hosts and made us feel at home right from the evening when we arrived (to have dinner by the fireplace) through to our breakfast before departing (with the cheese and butter from from the milk from their own cows). The house itself is beautiful and cosy, and it was a easy to give in to the temptation of simply walking around and marvelling at every detail. It's a short drive from hiking tracks and less than an hour drive to the coast. We hope to go back!

La estancia en casa Lourán es recomendable por todo, especialmente el trato de la familia propietaria que lo gestiona con un cariño que se percibe en todos los rincones de este lugar para perderse...y encontrarse!

This place is just amazing. We did the Camino from Porto to Santiago and we stayed in a different hotel every night. After we got to Santiago we traveled around the north of Spain, staying somewhere different every night for a week. And this by far was the most fantastic, amazing place, hidden away in the hills of northern Spain that we stayed in. The lady that owns it couldn't speak any English and we couldn't speak any Spanish but she was so welcoming and lovely. Wish we could of stayed longer.
Great place to stay

Casa Louran, owned by Ana was a true joy! A simple old farmhouse had been made into a comfortable holiday stay with everything you needed for a quiet break. Yes it is very remote. (aprox 14 kms from the nearest proper village, which had shops, a fab local restaurant, bank, supermarket) but the beauty of the area and true Galician warmth made up for that + it does have wifi! Ana's cooking was wonderful with a variety of foods, many probably home grown. We stayed 3 nights and although had poor weather were completely taken over by a truly comfortable and welcoming environment. Maybe not our usual type of hotel but we can recommend it enough!

Casa Louran is a beautiful place. Ana is a wonderful hostess. She makes a nice breakfast every morning with the best home made butter and jams. She also offers to cook you delicious home made dinners. The rooms are simple, but very clean. The house is beautifully restored. There are nice hikes right by the house. A drive to the coast is only about 30 minutes. There is a lot to see and do in the area. I would love to go back and stay at Casa Louran again. Everything was perfect!
