Baixa is one of the historic districts in the centre of Lisbon. Plenty of sights, the most beautiful and biggest squares, noble streets, are all around the corner and only a few foot steps away. Especially the Baixa was affected by the big earthquake in 1755. Nearly the whole downtown was destroyed. It is all the nicer to see, what was created since then.  

Like the neighbouring historic districts, it is best to walk the Baixa.  Starting from the beautiful Praça do Comércio you can walk up the shopping mile (Rua Augusta) to the square Rossio. From there you can choose: Either you go left to the nightlife district Bairro Alto or right to the historic Alfama. Straight ahead, at the end of the biggest street in Lisbon (Avenida Liberdade), you will reach the Marquês de Pompal.

The apartment has two bedrooms, a living room, plus an attached guest room, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. A total of 5 people can be accommodated here, 2 people per bedroom and another one on the sofa bed in the guest room.
