Edinburgh's Most Romantic Boutique Hotel (Scottish Hotel Awards 2019), is very much deserving of the name and eagerly awaits your arrival. The family run boutique hotel is a home away from home, set across 2 Victorian houses in a peaceful corner of Edinburgh's West End. The owners have poured their love into these houses, refurbishing them to the highest standard whilst also making sure to maintain the building's neoclassical character and the owners' Orcadian heritage. The overwhelming feature of the hotel and rooms is its cosiness. Decorated with original artwork and Scottish tweeds. the rooms contain everything you will need. Some of the suites even contain four poster beds, free standing copper roll-top baths, home cinema style lounges, and sweeping views of Edinburgh's cityscape.
You won't want to leave this beautiful home, with all of its luxuries and the care offered by staff. In the Dunstane House, you will find the Ba Bar and Lounge, offering delicious meals made with local Scottish products from small suppliers, fine wines, craft beers, artisan spirits, and one of the most extensive rare-whiskey selections in the city, boasting over 70 varieties that you may sample in the lounge. In the Hampton House, the Stroma Lounge offers an elegant breakfast room, atmospheric honesty bar, and cosy garden conservatory, where you can drink gin and tonic from dainty tea cups or enjoy a traditional afternoon tea. Don't forget to try the complimentary homemade shortbread in your room!

Reviews about The Roseate Edinburgh
Comfortable stay with a touch of luxury
by Katie

Thoroughly enjoyed my first stay at Dunstane Houses, and will definitely find an excuse to go back. Although it was a very busy rugby Sunday, the staff team were professional at all times, and everything done with a smile. My room was very comfortable, but had a few extra touches of luxury that made it feel just a bit more special. The location was ideal and, despite the rugby crowd, I had a quiet night’s sleep. The team at Secret Places were very quick to help sort out a wee glitch in the booking, and I would happily use them when looking for accommodation in the future

Excellent Staff and welcoming
Excellent location
Breakfast and common area were most enjoyable and reached expectations
Our room on the other hand was quite disappointing and really overpriced for what was offered .
set in the basement with no view and hardly any light , strong smell of bleach and mold on arrival
Ment to be a suite fitting 3 person
Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and took all the space in the room
Toilet access was only possible through the twin bedroom .
Would recommend the hotel but certainly not that room
