La Casa del Ciprés

“Rent a piece of history in the heart of Córdoba" - with this phrase, La Casa del Ciprés welcomes its guests to a luxurious palace house that stands where a tall cypress once towered above the horizon. "La Casa del Ciprés" (The House of the Cypress) is part of the artistic and cultural heritage of Córdoba and recognised as such in the city archives. The house is located in Calle Tornillo, near a Roman sewer that once collected water flowing down from the city walls in Calle Maese Luis.  Intricate and ubiquitous mosaics recall times gone by and resemble the mosaic on the fireplace in the main living room.

La Casa del Ciprés is surrounded by a patio and a corridor formed by columns and an elaborate coffered ceiling, while the interior offers a fully equipped kitchen, colourful tiles and several common areas. The two large dining rooms surround the patio and can be used for meetings with friends or simply to relax and unwind. With its six bedrooms located on the top floor, the luxury accommodation can sleep up to 14 people in total. The house has three bathrooms, a toilet and two terraces on the top floor overlooking Cordoba and its beautiful churches.

Guests can also order breakfast room service, lunch and dinner on request. Day trips and (private) guided tours to all the sights of Cordoba can also be arranged, as well as hairdressing  or other beauty services (both in-house and in beauty salons). Other services include massages, physiotherapy and a private tasting of organic natural wines.

Even though the history of Córdoba is already written on every wall of the house, the area surrounding the property is always worth a visit. Nearby are the bells of San Francisco, the squares of Corredera, Potro and Tendillas, the town hall, the Roman temple of Claudio Marcelo, the Arco del Triunfo and the Mosque-Cathedral (Mezquita-Catedral), which are only a ten-minute walk away. Guests can also take a walk along the Guadalquivir River and the Roman Bridge.

In addition, the House of the Cypress can be booked for events and celebrations such as weddings, family dinners, business meetings, birthdays, friends' reunions or private parties. The ground floor, where the courtyard and halls are located, can accommodate up to 80 guests. Private and public cultural events such as concerts, performances and theatre can also be arranged by the owners.
