Nômade - Auberge Rurale

The „Nômade“ is a hidden gem, tucked away in the rolling hills above the little town of Melides and just 8 km away from the endless sandy beaches of the Praia da Galé. Famous Comporta is also not too far away. It is a place for connoisseurs of the good things in life, people who enjoy pureness more than the artificial, that like easiness but do not want to do without comfort, appreciate good food and wine and who like to be catered for without having to give up on privacy.

In case you do not want to venture to one of the sandy beaches with turquoise water nearby, you can relax in the hammocks and listen to the woodpeckers working in the woods. Maybe go for a dip in the 20m wide lake?

The 6 large and lovingly decorated apartments consist of a bedroom, living room, a terrace and a fully equipped kitchen in case you would like to prepare a wonderful lunch made with fresh produce from the local markets, not to forget the fish from the Setubal market, one of the best in Portugal.

The main house is built in the traditional way using straw, clay and lime and is one of the first hotels in Europe built in this manner.

A large breakfast is served in the Nômades’ restaurant and the winecellar offers more the 50 different wines from all over Portugal. Twice a week the Nômade offers a “menu degustation” to its guests where you will be taken on a culinary voyage through the world of tastes from far and near.
