Chania is a lovely old town, blessed as it is with great architecture which mirrors the ebb and flow of many cultures that have made their home there (Venetian, Ottoman, Greek) and like many other Greek towns it has an immense historical and cultural legacy.
It’s also by the sea, so it provides a fantastic raw material for a great escape. One of the many old and well preserved houses in Chania is the Pandora Suites, a 10 room charming b&b that has its own superb patio, roof terrace where breakfast is taken when weather allows and fantastic all encompassing vistas over the bay of Chania.
Tradition and modern comforts go hand in hand here mixed with a lot of imagination and quirky taste. The result is a really fine accommodation with 2 and 4 bed suites with exotic names such as Poseidon, Ermis and Afrodite.
Each one comes with a living room, which tends to the classical style, kitchenette (fully equipped), luxury bathroom, radio, safe box, telephone and air-conditioning. The 3 suites for 4 persons and 3 double rooms have view to the lovely courtyard of the hotel and to a quiet street. The top floor has a roof garden where not only breakfast is served but where guests enjoy a drink during the evening or night. Are there any down sides here? Nope, except perhaps it isn’t finding a parking space. But that goes for a lot of Chania, so bear that in mind if you’re travelling by car.

We arrived in Chania August 27th and spent two nights at Pandoras suite.then we came back in September 6th for our last night in Creta . The hotel is just perfect ! The situation is ideal so close to the old city and yet quiet enough to avoid the crowd . The rooms are wonderfully decorated, the people are so sweet and attentive to your needs . Breakfast is incredible and served on the rooftop of the hotel overlooking the old town. The perfect place to stay ??

I would thoroughly recommend Pandora without hesitation. We stayed for one week at the end of May in two rooms - the first with spectacular views over the harbour from the balcony and the second a beautifully tranquil and cool suite opening onto the garden. The welcome was so warm, rooms absolutely spotless, breakfast perfect and location second to none. The staff could not do enough for us and were incredibly friendly. Pandora is a gem and in my view, the very best place to stay in Chania.

My wife and I stayed three nights at the Pandora Suites in lovely Chania. We enjoyed our stay there, and found "George" and Irina to be beyond hospitable, helpful, and gracious in there welcome throughout our stay. The view of the Venetian harbor from our room was magnificent. As travelers "of an age," we were only slightly bothered by the very "lively" night life along the water, which literally continues through to the wee hours. Other than this one complaint, we had a great stay and would recommend Pandora Suites to our friends.

Die Pandora Suites schweben etwas erhöht quasi über dem Hafen, Zugang von einer steileren Nebenstraße, durch einen kleinen schönen Innenhof. Die Zimmer sind sehr individuell und schön, sauber, charmant, und bieten allen erforderlichen Komfort. Das Personal ist nicht nur freundlich, hilfreich und zuvorkommend, sondern wirklich nett. Ich müsste suchen, um etwas Negatives zu finden - und das möchte ich bei diesem Hause nicht. Das Frühstück wird nach Möglichkeit auf der Dachterrasse serviert, die einen Blick über halb Chania erlaubt, frische Säfte, neben dem etwas abgespeckten üblichen vor allem gesunde Sachen, sehr freundlich und familiär serviert. Die Restaurantempfehlungen von der Rezeption waren sämtlich wirklich sehr gut und entsprachen unseren Geschmack von guter individueller Küche, abseits der üblichen Touristenrestaurants, auch der Mann von der Rezeption geht offensichtlich gerne gut essen. Trotz extrem schwieriger Parkplatzsituation konnte uns geholfen werden. Wir sind recht verwöhnt, was Unterkünfte betrifft, orientierten uns allerdings nicht nur einen üblichen Standards, sondern bevorzugen so weit es geht immer kleinere, individuelle Häuser mit Charme - mögen aber zugleich, dass alles gut funktioniert. Die Pandora Suites entsprechen dem, wir können sie nur empfehlen! Gut hat uns auch gefallen, dass man uns trotzdem noch ein leckeres Frühstück machte, als wir einmal erst während des Abräumens erschienen sind, wir mögen diese Flexibilität sehr. Wir fühlten uns einfach gut aufgehoben. Dieses Hotel jedenfalls, indem wir wegen Platzmangels und kurzfristiger Buchung leider nur zwei Nächte verbringen konnten, werden wir noch mal aufsuchen, wenn wir in der Nähe sind. Was kann man mehr sagen?
