Casa del Capitan

Luxury villa with nine bedrooms, located in Port Lligat, right outside of the charming village Cadaqués at the beautiful Costa Brava. The former owner and tenant of the villa was Dalí’s personal manager “Captain Moore” and he lived in the house for nearly 20 years. From 2017 to 2018, the villa was completely refurbished by the Spanish architect Ignacio Herrera and the French interior designer Nathalie Poitevin. They had respect for the original architecture of the house and preserved the unique artistic heritage. 

The villa was designed in the sixties by the famous American architect Peter Harnden. By this time, the style of the house was a novelty in Cadaqués, which later inspired many other architects and became a reference. 

Casa del Capitan is nestled in a private park of five hectares, right in front of the impressive Natural Park of Cap de Creus, surrounded by the sea and protected by a pine forest. Casa del Capitan offers breath-taking views in a calm and private setting. It blends modernity, simplicity, comfort and luxury, with a certain influence from the California of the fifties and a rustic Mediterranean style. 

The house accommodates up to 22 people. The villa is built on the rocks of the cliff and is made out of two different modules: the main house with five bedrooms and four exterior bedrooms with independent access. All rooms are connected with beautiful Mediterranean patios and stone steps.

1 family suite with en-suite bathroom (sleeps 4),

4 double or twin en-suite bathrooms,

1 en-suite bedroom with 4 single beds,

1 cosy ‘library office’ convertible into bedroom, with en-suite bathroom.

The property is only available for rental as a whole and with cleaning service and concierge.

The Casa del Capitan features direct access to the sea by a steep stairway that goes down the cliffs. This access is definitely only suitable for non-lazy travellers. 

The Salvador Dalí Museum is a 5-minute walk away, the centre of Cadaqués 20 minutes by foot and 5 minutes by car. S’Alqueria Beach is only 2 minutes' walk away.
