Casa René - Lisbon's hidden gem - Holiday apartments

Cacilhas is a town located on the banks of the Tagus River, just on the opposite river side of Lisbon. It is part of the municipality of Almada, a Lisbon suburb. Here we find the beautiful self-catering apartment Casa René, located in a wonderful historic building from 1892 that has been perfectly restored over 9 years to regain its former splendor.  

This beautiful 3-storey house has 5 elegant 2-bedroom apartments, all very spacious and each with a private terrace overlooking the garden, suitable for up to 4 people. The house's interior has been exceptionally restored and shows many details that demonstrate the quality of the materials used in the past. Guests have access to a patio with tables and chairs, a beautiful garden with orange and lemon trees, and the swimming pool, a gem of the house measuring 16 meters in length with several sun beds around.  

The apartments are decorated simply and comfortably and offer all modern conveniences, such as heating/air conditioning, and a kitchen equipped with a refrigerator and dishwasher. The bathrooms are beautiful and have rain showers, and the beds are very comfortable and can be in the format of a double twin. Bath and beach towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap, shower cap, and hair dryer are also provided. In the kitchen, you will find water, milk, coffee, tea, sugar, olive oil, vinegar, pepper, and salt, so you don't have to run to a store when you arrive.  

The house is at the end of a pedestrian street full of cafes and restaurants, just a 6-minute walk from the ferry that takes you to Lisbon. The ferry ride takes approximately 8 minutes and offers spectacular views of Lisbon. The ferry arrives at Cais do Sodré, in the very heart of Lisbon, so no car is needed and you can visit Alfama or Bairro Alto on foot (keep in mind that Lisbon has many hills). 

Ylvi, the owner of the place, is incredibly friendly and always available to help, as she resides in a private part of this beautiful manor house. 

The city of Cacilhas is gaining popularity as a tourist destination for those wishing to experience a different side of Lisbon. It is a lively and bohemian place that retains a typically Portuguese charm and has become the perfect place for seafood lovers, with excellent restaurants. You can't miss the restaurant "Atira-te ao Rio", located on the river bank, where many Lisbon People go to enjoy excellent caipirinhas and watch the sunset.
