La Divine Comédie

La Divine Comédie is a mansion in the historic medieval centre of Avignon, an elegant and refined little oasis where you feel directly how much commitment the owners put into the accommodation and the way they treat their guests. Amaury and Gilles' passion for art and design has led them to acquire stunning pieces over the years, such as an incredible collection of 17th century drawings depicting the history of Avignon, as well as some eclectic artefacts such as the giant cow statue displayed in one of the charming lounges. The absolutely gorgeous decor with a clever mix of antique furniture and modern art makes this place very special and unique.
Anatole, Aphrodite, Consul, Naples and Venice - these are the names of the 5 suites. Each of them has its own name and history and all of them have the power to seduce you completely. The suites are spacious, beautifully furnished, equipped as in a five-star hotel and also super comfortable thanks to their high-quality bed linen. The bathrooms have a separate bathtub and shower. High ceilings, many windows with garden views, as well as paintings and antiques complete the artistic charm that surrounds the entire house. All suites also have free Wi-Fi, satellite TV and a small fridge. The private garden, the largest in the city and with no neighbours, is beautiful and truly an oasis of serenity and peace. It is surrounded by the large porte-cochère, an avenue of cypresses, palm trees and 250-year-old plane trees. The garden also has a swimming pool surrounded by shrubs, as well as a pond, a small waterfall, a magnificent stone house and a cosy conservatory. For the perfect spa day, there is also a spa area with sauna and Turkish bath.
The optional breakfast is prepared with fresh and high-quality products and is super good. Our personal highlight: the delicious wholemeal bread with fruit, served in the large lounge with magnificent chandeliers. At the bar you can also order snacks and small meals on request.
La Divine Comédie is a unique, poetic and magical place that invites you to relax, perhaps with a book from the in-house library. The house is truly a curious and at the same time beautiful place, completely out of time. The 14th century Palais des Papes is just an 8-minute walk from the accommodation and the Avignon Centre train station is just 1 km away.
