In the Region of Malaga near the small village Archidona you will find the charming Hotel Almohall 51. Recently the hotel has changed ownership and new owners, Jo and Ken are keen to welcome you, offering exceptional attention to detail and a holiday experience you will love. This lovely restored Hotel was made by connecting two former ruined historic casa rural houses. All restoration work was completed with special care in order to maintain the genuine spirit of the building. The house is tastefully decorated and recently updated and improved by the new owners, resulting in a very creative original combination of past and present. The famous city of Malaga is only 40km away and Granada is at 50 km. Córdoba is a one-hour ride away whilst Sevilla is 1h30. As you can see, this is a beautiful and stylish base for a fantastic stay and offers an opportunity to explore southern Spain at the same time. All the rooms are comfortably furnished and come with extra comfortable beds. The ceilings with original wooden beams offer an extra bit of charm in your holiday B&B. Please note that there is no air-con or balconies, this is due to the fact that this historic building is cool as it has thick walls to protect it from the southern heat.

The sun is always shining here, so what better than a refreshing dip to relax in the pool and later a cool drink on the terrace whilst watching the amazing sunset?

An excellent breakfast is served, using fresh specialty food from the area, including homemade granola, yogurt, and fresh fruit, juice, eggs, ham, local olive oil, and fresh coffee.

There are many leisure activities locally such as Cycling, Horse riding, Golf, Walking, or Birdwatching. The new owners have introduced specialist experience breaks, such as group cycling, yoga, or walking breaks, and offer a range of bookable experiences such as wine and olive oil testing. Please ask for more details. Almohalla 51 is one of our best-kept secrets, thus we aren’t pretty sure for how long Please note that this hotel is not suitable for people with mobility issues or children under the age of 10

A special place to stay

From the moment we arrived we knew we had chosen the right place. The town were drove through to arrive at Almohalla51 is compact, characterful and welcoming with panoramic views over the valley below. This beautiful boutique Hotel (5 rooms), composed of two traditional Andalusian houses fused together is brim full of charm, antique features, fireplaces, snugs and beautiful handmade crockery. And to be honest it all felt deliciously '5 star' and yet like home too. Jo and Ken both greeted us and we were surprise to hear north of England accents. I am from Manchester in England and felt an immediately at home. Nothing is a problem for you as a guest and they are both mines of local information and recommendations. Their enthusiasm for the local area and Spanish life in general is inspiring. Lovely bed linen, comfy beds, a range of homemade breakfasts, rooms tastefully furnished with antique furniture and modern amenities, different areas to relax and read or listen to music both inside and out. This hotel is both cool and yet cosy - we stayed in early November so days were still hot (by British standards) - Mid 20’s, but evening were cooler. The pool area is beautiful - we dipped a toe in as it was November, but some more adventurous German guests we using it daily. At sunset the view from near the pool is amazing in Autumn as I am sure it is any time of year. We hope to go back as soon as we can to test that out. Amazing accommodation

We stayed at Almohalla 51 for 4 nights and that was definitely too short! What a beautiful accommodation! The house itself is located in a quiet living street in Archidona which we loved because you can dive straight into the local life. Archidona is a lovely town, not too busy but offers everything you need. The landscape is amazing and there is lots to explore in the area but its also a good starting point to reach many of the famous destinations in Andalusia. The interior of the hotel is amazing and super cosy. We loved the breakfast, the self-service fridge for drinks and the beautiful pool area (great for sunsets!). Jo and Ken are amazing and super friendly hosts! They had a lot of great tips for us and were happy to help with everything (for instance with reservations). Relaxing break

I can only agree with all the previous reviews Almohalla 51 is an amazing place so relaxing from the time we arrived to when we left, David & Myles are so knowledgable about the local area with great recommendations for restaurants & bars in the town. Would definitely return to this unique beautifully presented & cared for hotel next time we’re in the area.

Fantastic Place/David & Myles great hosts/Brilliant facilities & beautifully furnished.Fab breakfast & pool/sun area. Archidona is a lovely town & a great base from which to explore the many great destinations all within easy travelling distance. Will definitely be going back -- next time for longer.
