The first option leads down an 800-metre-high hill that stretches from the Alijó plateau down to the banks of the Douro River. On this journey, your panoramic view consists of a perfect fusion of the valleys and terraced hills covered with vineyards and the Douro riverbed. But arriving by boat is no less impressive. Casa do Rio offers this service from the town of Pinhão. Enjoy a glass of port on the way and let yourself be the centre of attention. Surrounded by the hot, dry air, the hills with their vineyards and olive groves seem like a backdrop worthy of a film. When you arrive, don't worry about transport, just walk about 50 metres and you'll be helped with your bags.
