Hacienda el Terrero

Hacienda El Terrero is a beautiful finca carefully restored to reflect the Canarian architecture, whose history dates back to the 16th century. The estate covers 200,000 m² and is home to twelve charming farmhouses to rent of different sizes, which were the former homes of farmers, winemakers and merchants. The owners have planted 10.000 square metres of Malvasia de Costa vineyards, which are used to produce a limited edition of the world famous Canarian wine. There are also avocado and banana trees, more than a hundred peach trees, mango and lychee trees which produce fresh, organic fruit all year round.

 As we enter through the gates of the finca, we are welcomed by a huge dragon tree and the infinity of the ocean. Walking down a cobbled path you reach the white painted stone cottages, all with their own private terraces and beautiful views. Each house is individually furnished and has its own charm, perpetuating the Canarian heritage, but with comfort: fully equipped kitchens, private bathroom with shower, comfortable beds, Wi-Fi among others. Inside, modern design elements mix with natural stone washbasins and wooden bars with centuries of history. Some of the rooms retain large boulders embedded in the walls, intact from the original construction. The communal pool, once a pond, overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and is surrounded by banana trees. 

The hacienda is located in one of the most rugged areas of the Realeja coast in the north of Tenerife, an area protected from the uncontrolled tourism in the south of the island. From Hacienda Terrero you can easily reach all places of interest such as La Orotava, Icod de los Vinos or Garachico. The nearest beach is a 3 minute drive away. To stock up your fridge, you will find a supermarket only 10 minutes away, which has everything, including excellent fresh products.

Note that the finca is in the middle of nature. It is a rural space, where you hear the waves of the sea, your skin will be sprinkled with in salt and hopefully by the end of your stay you will have made friends with the local wildlife.

It is a paradise of tranquillity, perfect for relaxing in front of the sea, inviting you to laze around.

The houses most suitable for children are La Gañania and La Jurdana, as they have two bedrooms, and La Parra, which has a 1.35 meter high bed as a bunk bed. Casa El Carrero and La Parranda have a bedroom in a separate room and a sofa bed in the living room.
