The Pestana Porto could not be better located. It is situated in the Praça da Ribeira, in the very heart of the historical Porto and constructed on part of the medieval city wall and forms part of a block of town houses, some of which go back to the 16th and 17th centuries.
The cultural importance of the buildings can be evidenced by the fact they have been classified as part of a UNESCO World Heritage site.The hotel also overlooks the Port wine cellars and is close to the Palácio da Bolsa building.
Not surprisingly, the atmosphere this hotel imbues is rather special and unique.
