This beautiful villa seems to be glued to the side of the mountain with views of the sea from every angle.

There really is no better way to say you stayed on the Amalfi Coast than being perched 100 metres above it or following the hotel’s private path down to the sea and the cute little bathing area that the Dipino family have placed there for you with deckchairs, a few umbrellas and the sound of the Mediterranean lapping below.

This hotel doesn’t need to be over the top with decorative extras. The typical white and blue feature alongside the beautiful hand-made tiles from the area. Apart from that the bougainvillea and lemon trees, the stunning scenery of the Lattari mountains behind and the odd grape vine poking through the gap in the conservatory-style restaurant are enough to encourage a healthy dose of relaxation.

Chef Giuseppe’s puts on a fine display in the kitchen where again the focus is letting the materials speak for themselves without the need for fancy trimmings. Much of the food here is sourced locally with unusually sounding names for the pasta such as scialatielli and crespolini all homemade in the kitchen. You won’t find them anywhere outside of these beautiful region of Italy but even if you could they wouldn’t match up.

Local wines and freshly caught fish can be followed by the deserts, again home-made, and topped off with an ice-cool limoncello.

The rooms all face straight out to see and all but one have balconies and drop-dead beautiful vistas. The family have done a wonderful job with the hotel and considering the more-than-reasonable prices this is a superb choice for a relaxing and indulgent visit to this spectacular corner of Southern Italy.
